Doreetha “Reesie” Wheatley is a Business Owner, Dressmaker, Designer, and Chicago native from the Englewood Community who has specialized in garment creation for over 30 years.

She tapped into her God-given talent of sewing at the tender age of eight with Barbie as her first client. Upon entering High school Reesie began designing and creating clothing using the skills acquired in Fashion Design class at Chicago Vocational High School where modeling for a local organization called Prom Connection paved the way for her passion and the desire to showcase her designs on the runway.

With continuous growth and the support of amazing Designers such as Roman Bailey of Rome Dynasty, Barbara Bates of Bates Designs and Quinton De Alexander of Chez de’ Alexander that have trained and mentored her Reesie’s Pieces (R.P. Couture) has now become a household name to many offering her ready to wear garments and her  uniquely designed Slouch Bag is that screams “Because you’re such a lady”. 

Throughout the years Reesie has lived by give and it shall be given which was noticed by Dr Quinton de'Alexander ( Now Chief Tamba Taylor) and received honor at his annual We Dream in Color Foundation humanitarian event. She also donated funds to build The Chief Tamba Taylor playground in Liberia for disadvantaged communities. She's a mentor who also teaches sewing and SEL at various organizations such as BBF, Afterschool Matters, CCHC and has worked with organizations such as A Better Tomorrow for Today's Teens, Our Youth a Community Forum, and Chicago Public Schools   to teach underprivileged youth about fashion and entrepreneurship.​ “We're transforming lives- one stitch at a time."
